Weddings

Weddings are so much fun to plan and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by choices. Our goal is to walk your through every step of the process in the easiest way possible so that you can sit back and enjoy your version of a Gin Tonic, (our owner’s personal favorite!), while we do that planning. Staying calm, cool and collected is our specialty!

corporate and non-profit

We understand that not all companies have the capability or the know how to plan a successful event from start to finish. That is where we come in with the experience and time to execute total planning. Company Holiday Parties, Fundraisers, Product Launches. We love them all! Have a unique request or want to collaborate? Contact us!

Social and community

Whether you are planning a Surprise 50th Birthday Party, a fun Bar or Bat Mitzvah for you teen, a Community Event or a Shower of some sort, we have got you covered!

A letter from ginna

Hi there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my corner of the web!

My name is Ginna Nilest Matson. I’m a Louisville native but have spent the last 6 years living life in Lexington, KY. I attended Transylvania University where I received a BA in both Hospitality and Theatre.  My love affair with event planning started in 2014 when I began to work at Dupree Catering and Events as a server. 2016 came around and I said I was ready to move up to Coordinator and was fortunate enough that they said yes, that would have been awkward otherwise! Over the next 2 years, I helped with a variety of things from training all front of house staff to planning corporate cocktail parties, grand weddings and all events in between. During this same time, I met and fell in love with my favorite guy, Andrew, and we planned a fun week long celebration/destination wedding in New York the summer of 2017.

After 4 years with Dupree Catering, we decided to uproot our little family and move back home to Louisville, (Mom was over the moon!) Most recently, I served as Event Services Manager for Ashbourne Farms in La Grange. There, I coordinated logistics and staffing for luxury weddings and over the top national events such as the James Beard Foundation’s Taste the World Tour. To say I have been fortunate is an understatement.

That all brings us to this point in time where I fulfill a life long dream of being a total “Girl Boss”, in tribute to my favorite podcast. Business ownership runs deep in my family, and I couldn’t be more eager to branch out on my own. I love to make people happy and realize how stressful wedding planning is. My goal is to help you feel calm and comfortable about your unique event without having a stress in the world. As a logistics expert and a pro in crisis management, not much spooks this lady!

I spend my free time at home catching up with my fur babies,(2 cats, Kitty and Kat, and 2 pups, Red and Swarley. Yes, that’s from from HIMYM.) I love reruns of Friends, Parks and Rec and obviously HIMYM. I also indulge regularly on Food Network and Cooking Channel. We also are absorbed into all things basketball and currently home renovations.

Want to grab a coffee?

hummingbird PAGE

Hummingbird Page derives its name in homage to our founder’s grandfather, Harold Page, who owned an event rental and design company many years before our inception. An avid musician, he played in a small band with friends in their older years. Upon his passing in 2011, her great uncle noted that Mr. Page affectionately referred to his band as the Hummingbird’s because they so commonly forgot the lyrics that they ended up humming along to the songs. It’s that same joy and lightheartedness that we carry with us throughout our work.

Hummingbird Page strives to find a happy middle ground between getting carried away in the details and enjoying the calm and effort that goes into each crafted event. Whether you are planning your wedding or creating a curated corporate event, we hope to bring knowledge and logistics while you bask in the fun.

Events commonly come with unnecessary excess, some preventable and some that you can’t avoid without taking away from the overall design. We have a Green Mind and a Community Based Heart, that means we hope to partner with our clients in repurposing their flowers for nursing homes and hospitals and helping donate any excess leftovers to local shelters.
